Psychology alumni awarded third place for research

Huntington, Ind.-Huntington University alumni Brittany Gower, Christina Hand and Zachariah Crooks were awarded third place by the Undergraduate Research Community for their research paper titled "The Relationship between Stress and Eating in College-Aged Students," which examined how stressors affect college students in what they eat and when they eat it.

This is a new program for the URC that recognizes outstanding undergraduate research. Six awards were selected from 36 manuscripts.

The URC, founded in 2001, is sponsored by Kappa Omicron Nu and looks to develop "the next generation of scholars."

Gower and Crooks, of Huntington, Ind., and Hand, of Bettendorf, Iowa, are 2009 graduates with Bachelor of Arts degrees in psychology.
