Master of Science in Occupational Therapy

The Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) program has received Applicant Status from the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE®) and is actively progressing through the accreditation process. During this phase, program faculty and university leadership are focused on developing a high-quality educational experience that aligns with accreditation standards and supports future student success. The MSOT program is built upon the strength of an institution that has maintained an ACOTE-accredited Occupational Therapy Doctorate program for more than a decade, drawing on established faculty expertise, strong fieldwork partnerships, and a longstanding commitment to excellence in occupational therapy education.

The anticipated start date for the MSOT first cohort is Fall 2029.

Please note that the MSOT program must have a pre-accreditation review, complete an on-site evaluation, and be granted Accreditation Status before graduates will be eligible to sit for the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) exam.  After successful completion of this exam, the graduate will be an Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR).

In addition, all states require licensure to practice; however, state licenses are usually based on the results of the NBCOT Certification Examination. A felony conviction may affect a graduate’s ability to sit for the NBCOT certification examination or attain state licensure.
