Occupational Therapy Application Process & Requirements

Huntington University’s doctoral program in occupational therapy (OTD) annually admits up to 56 students (Spring Cohort: 22 students, Fall Cohort: 34 students). New cohort classes begin each spring and fall semester in late January and late August.

Application Process

1. Review the Minimum Application Requirements to be sure you meet the minimum qualifications to be considered for admission. 

2. Huntington University uses the Occupational Therapy Centralized Application Service (OTCAS). Please visit the OTCAS Portal to create your OTCAS account, complete the OTCAS application, and submit supporting credentials.

If you have courses still in progress when you submit the OTCAS application, please send a revised copy of your official transcript directly to Huntington University after those courses are completed, documenting successful completion. Prior to enrollment, please send these transcripts to:

Where to Send Your Application:
OTCAS must receive the application, references, and transcripts by February 1, 2018, for fall cohort applicants or by November 1, 2017, for spring cohort applicants. Once your application is complete, OTCAS will verify your documents before releasing them to Huntington University. Please note that Huntington University will not review your application until your status reaches verified on OTCAS.

Please Note:
OTCAS does not accept paper references. Letters of recommendation are submitted electronically through the OTCAS system.

3. Pay Huntington University's $50 supplemental application fee online. You may also pay by mailing a check payable to Huntington University (address above) or over the phone with credit/debit at (260) 359-4283. This fee is waived for current HU students and alumni.

4. In addition to the application, recommendations, and transcripts you submit to OTCAS, please remember that Huntington University also must receive official GRE scores by November 1, 2017, for spring cohort applicants and June 1, 2018, for fall cohort applicants. GRE scores must be submitted via OTCAS by listing Huntington University's GRE Designated Institution (DI) Code, 7375, as a score recipient. 

5. Interview Invitations
Eligible candidates will be invited for an interview with a faculty member. Opportunities for individual interviews will be offered on OT Preview Days
