HU ranked by Christian Universities Online as ‘Exceeding Expectations’

Huntington University has been named to the list of “Top 50 Christian Colleges and Universities Exceeding Expectations 2016” by Christian Universities Online.

The ranking highlights schools that go above and beyond when it comes to students’ academic achievements.

“This ranking highlights the excellent work that our faculty and academic support staff are doing,” said Dr. Mike Wanous, vice president for academic affairs & dean of faculty. “They are an amazing team that works together to make sure students have the support that they need to succeed and graduate.”

Each school on the list significantly surpassed its predicted graduation rate, showing that care has been taken to enhance students’ college experiences from acceptance to graduation. Wanous points out that Huntington University’s graduation rate exceeds that predicted by the model because “HU’s team goes above and beyond to make sure our students reach their potential, graduate from college and make a difference in the world.”

Dr. Sherilyn Emberton, president of Huntington University, agrees.

“We are blessed at Huntington University to continue to be listed among the best in Christian, liberal arts colleges,” said Emberton. “These recognitions come from the success of our graduates, as well as the outstanding contributions of our faculty and staff.”

This is the first ranking from the OnlineCollges.net that has focused solely on liberal arts institutions. The methodology behind the ranking started with schools that are members or member eligible of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU). Publicly-available data was gathered from U.S. News & World Report in two categories. Schools were then compared by predicted and actual graduation rates and then ranked on the difference between the two variables.
