Mechanical Engineering Curriculum

Through a dual-degree program partnership with the University of North Dakota, students may earn a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering. The program requires the concurrent completion of either the mathematics or mathematical modeling degree from Huntington University. Students earn bachelor of science degrees from Huntington University and the University of North Dakota. This program blends the small supportive Huntington University campus environment with the online ABET-accredited engineering curriculum from the University of North Dakota. Hands-on labs are completed on-campus with personalized faculty support. The mechanical engineering degree requires one summer course on the University of North Dakota campus.

Am I considered a full-time student at both HU and UND?

A student enrolled in this program can participate in student activities and use all available facilities at both institutions. A resident student may remain on campus at Huntington University for the duration of the program.

What will my online courses look like?

Even though the mechanical engineering faculty are based out of state, you’ll still have a local point of contact right here at HU. Every mechanical engineering student is paired with a local advisor—an experienced professional from the region who also serves on HU’s engineering advisory board. This advisor provides valuable career guidance, helps navigate the program, and is a great resource for finding internships and real-world engineering experiences.
