With the busyness of classes, internships, practices, and social lives, the individual importance of each spiritual life experience is sometimes lost. We tend to turn these meaningful times of worship into a 45-minute period of waiting for a QR code. Drawing from my personal experience at a chapel service, I hope that you can see the invaluable impact that spiritual life events can have in your life if you are attentive and have an open heart.

At HU, you have the opportunity to grow and change in a safe environment. Growth requires looking back at the past and gaining inspiration to surpass your current comfort level. Luckily, your freshman self is one of your biggest fans and is rooting for your success.

I remember feeling like I had to appear “put together” when I began college. The academic course load? No problem. Making new friends and fitting in on a new basketball team? I got this. Thankfully, I have learned that being genuine is far better in the long run than pretending.

We’ve received reports all summer about the amazing internships, missions trips, and adventures our returning Huntington University students undertook in the past few months. With summer winding down, now is the perfect time to recap some of those experiences.

October in the MCA offers a bit of something for everyone. A band concert, senior showcases, and a guest lecture will headline our Zurcher Auditorium and Longaker Recital Hall stages. Plus, Terry Pulley’s exhibition of paintings will be on display all month in the Robert E. Wilson Art Gallery.

As you prepare to come back to HU after the summer, remember that you have an entire Forester Family to welcome you to campus. Moving back can be stressful, but remembering the exciting and rewarding aspects of life at HU can be a tremendous encouragement.

This is by no means a complete list of all of the resources we offer at Huntington University. However, these are some of the resources you likely will return to repeatedly in the semesters to come. You can save yourself time and hassle by being aware of them now and saving them in a place that will be easy to find later.
